  2. I went into the family dollar looking for a gift but didn’t find anything I thought they might like. I did pick up 2 bags of utz potato chips. they were 2 for $5.00. The girl rang them up and told me the total was $5.50. When I got my receipt, the price was $2.75 I told the girl they were 2 for $5.00 she told me that the .50 was the tax. I don’t know her arithmetic but 8 % times 5 does not come to .50. She said she had to get the manager. When the manager came, she didn’t say anything except here and set my .50 on the counter. I know .50 isn’t much and it’s Christmas and people are not pleasant, but I was not nasty or anything. And a I am sorry would have gone a long way.   3. I usualy shop at my local Family Dollar 2 x’s or 3 times a month. The employees are courteous and friendly. They always ask if I found what I needed or not. The store #05568 is always well stocked. The prices are very compatible to other stores and most times I find items are cheaper!

As a rule I will shop there before I go to other stores for they have the best price and have a lot of what I need for my husband with cancer. I do wish they had KETO products for that is what I need and have to go to other store to get it. My pets always look forward to see what I purchased for them.

  12. I was in the store on Alpine Rd Columbia SC. Every time I buy items out of this store it always ring up more than the shelf price and when you get to the register to pay…you are paying more than you should, It is not my responsibility to make sure the price are scanning correctly. They make it seems like it is the customers fault and they will not correct the mistake because you can go back the next day and nothing has been done about the errors that have been previously made. This is bad business practices. The managers are not keeping up with daily price changes. I know this because I was a retail manager for 40 years and I do know a little bit about what is going on here. This company needs to make sure their price changes are done and are ringing up correctly at the register. I just returned almost 10.00 worth of items that were ringing up wrong. More customers should be doing this so that your people will do their job. Times are too hard to have to worry about this too.

  13. I would like to report a deceptive business practice. I downloaded the coupon to save $5 on a purchase of at least $25 Saturday, March 26, 2022. It was more than $27. When I received my receipt, I noticed that the discount had not been applied, which I pointed out to the employee. Eventually another employee became involved. I was told that downloading it from the website was not good enough and that I would have to have the app. This was not mentioned on the website. Also, not everybody has the ability to download the app, not should it be necessary. Please change this deceptive policy or you may lose more customers than you’d think.

  14. Family dollar store#06760 everytime I shop at ANY locations the prices are NEVER correct. They won’t let you show them the price tags , description,and Sku numbers match. Nor do they even acknowledge or apologize for the error. The prices have become extremely higher. Knowing people are still struggling financially. Where this company made money non stop.

  15. I shopped at my neighborhood family dollar store #05146 everyday when they first opened, but as the time passed the service declined i now shop there once a week or once every other week I shouldn’t recieve poor service where im spending my money.

    • I bout pound cake the price on $ 1.25 they charge me $1.50. i told to the lady way charge me $1.50 should be 30% discount on ever thing in store she told me the pound cake not I sad but the price $1.25

  19. Store #06392 Remus, Michigan. Date 18 May 2022. Time 10:18 am. I am impressed. I was hit with a “WOW” as I walked through the front door. Clean was too tame a word for the store. Almost Immaculate is better. Crowded it was but nothing out of place. The floors quality were that which I would encounter at a Target or a JCPenney’s. I found the things I came for very easily. The Cashier was “Professionally” dressed with personal hyiene to match. I should know being an ex-Marine. I complemented the cashier on the store and his appearance at check out. I will visit that store anytime I would be in that area and I only wish the Family Dollar store in my area was that professional. I have been self-employed 30+ years in a business that I deal with my customers in there homes providing services from several major manufacturers. The store was “Grand Opening” quality. Thank you for restoring my confidence to shop at Family Dollar.

  21. The store experience is okay, but the use of “Smart Coupons” is a joke. I have tried the website different times and have yet to get an account finalized. Also, the sweepstakes entries should not be attached to other sweepstakes groups like Publisher’s Clearing House.

  22. I shop at Family Dollar in Greeley, PA. The clerks are all very friendly and helpful–when you can find one. Sometimes I’ve had to search for one. I usually need one because I still don’t know the store well enough to know where things are and I don’t like having to roam through the aisles for 15 minutes to find what I’m looking for.

I have only one complaint as a senior, I found it very difficult to unload my items as the carts cannot be taken out to the car, having to make several trips back in the store to unload my cart is not very convenient and hoping my items that i paid for were still there each time I came back. there was not anyone working there that even asked if they could help me take items to my car. I will not be buying anymore large items due to this fact.

    Store needs a lot of legal action and work done. I applied for a job with family dollar and use to work at family dollar 20 years ago. I was a assistant store manager and worked my a$$ off for family dollar. I recently applied for a district manager job and never get called back just for whatever reason. I never did anything wrong when I was with the company got promoted and everything. The staff look under paid and over worked. I
    Wish I had a good job.

  28. I had a very unpleasant incident at Store #08305 in San Angelo, TX. today. The cashier seemed to be irritated when an elderly man ahead of me asked for her to repeat the total of his purchase. After he paid and left she went to the other checkout while I stood there waiting to be checked out and started texting on her cell phone. I waited patiently until she decided to check me out. I bought a 12-Pk of 9 Lives Cat food and after I paid she dumped the cat food in a bag and spun the rotating bag holder so hard that the bag along with the 12-PK of cart food went flying to the floor and landing on my toe. I asked her why she had done that and all she would say that she was so sorry. By then I was so agitated that all I could say was that she was indeed “sorry” and started to walk out. As I was leaving I heard her say that she had apologized and she called me an A**Hole. I turned around with a few choice words of my own and told her that she needs to find a job where she has no customer contact because she isn’t very nice. I tried to get her name but she covered her name tag so I couldn’t read it. That’s the last time I’ll be buying at Family Dollar. There is a Dollar General just a couple of blocks down the street.

Pro Player socks had a 50% off sign in 2 places, they rang up regular price, I told the cashier and she called the manager over and he said show it to me, got to the shelf at I said right there, he ripped the 2 signs off and crumpled them up and threw it away, the sale said display until Middle of January next year.

  30. I buy from Store #01237 5304 Fairfield Road, Columbia, SC 29203. I went in their several months ago and I purchased some Mentos. The price on the label says $1.00, it ranged up at $1.15. I told cashier the price on label says a $1.00 and it need to match what is in the registered. I was given a choice to keep them or leave them. They could not override the price. After the prices did not match and did not bother to by anymore. When I went in the store today. I decided I would check. The $1.00 price is still on the label and ringing up $1.15.
    As a customer, I should pay what is on the label and not what is in the registered.

  31. I went to the Family Dollar at 1556 Bankhead Hwy. W Birmingham, AL Store#08695. There were workers there in the back smoking weed inside the store . I was all the way at the back of the store and could smell it loud back there . I will never go back there. The ladies at the registers are loud rude and simply not there to serve the customers. The line was long as well. They need to do a drug screen ASAP on ALL the employees there. Bring the police back to standing in the store as well .

Went , to the new Family Dollar, in Niagara Falls , NY, 05322, Nice store, clean, well stocked, Asst Manager, and District Manager setting floor plan , no greeting, sad way to start a first visit, think they would set the example, but i am looking for cheaper products, cashed out ok , fast and got the stuff I needed, will go back again. Very nice store hope they do well.

  36. We have a new Dollar store!! What a wonderful addition this is to our rural town. No more running to the city to enjoy the benefits and save money. I am an 88-year-old senior and this is a great store for me to shop. I am happy once more. I really missed having a hamburger as our local drive-in closed. I like fast food treats and discovered the best-frozen hamburgers in your freezer section. I bought one to try and they were so good am going back to get a few and keep them in my freezer.
    Great selection of a variety of products and the clerks are very friendly and pleasant, You offer a very positive and pleasant experience.

  37. A family dollar/dollar tree store just opened in my area. Big disappointment! Will not be shopping there often. A dollar tree store only is much better where everything is $1.25.The nearest one in my vicinity is 28 miles away. I will continue to shop at that one. What a bummer!!

    I am a frequent customer of Family Dollar Store #00339 211 S. Slappey Blvd. Albany, Ga. 31701 229-405-6659. On one occasion, I was asked to buy a candy bar for a fundraiser at the checkout counter. I did buy it but it was scanned through the register and I was taxed on it. The last time I checked fund raising is not ran through the register and taxed. This last visit a few days ago was shocking because of the irate, vulgar and disrespectful music that was playing in the store. The assistant manager who was operating the register was singing alone with this nasty and ridiculous music that we as customers have to endure will shopping. If that’s what you like and want to sing along with do it on your off time not while you are at work serving the public. Please address this immediately!!

Went to buy a outdoor lawn chair cushion… it was clearly marked 15$.. also another item that was clearly marked 3.50$.. get to the register and both items rang up different prices … i have worked retail before and know that what the item are marked is what they sale for… i went ahead and got the cushion but thought about it the madder i got and went back to get a refund… was told by the so called AST MGR that id have to come back on a monday… WTF is that policy….just lost a customer this day… i took

  44. I enjoy shopping at my local Family Dollar Store. Store #05860 Sam Houston Drive, Victoria Tx. It is suppose to be so convenient with the9 am opening hours. The problem is the person who is suppose to open up at 9 am very rarely opens up at 9 am. So far her excuses are I woke up late, I forgot what time it was, or if she is in the store at it is 9:15 after knocking loudly on the door she wanders up and laughs and says she lost track of time. While I was there waiting 3 cars drove up knocked on the door and left.
    VERY FRUSTRATING. I have had to go across the street to a competitor.
